Heading north on US 41 you arrive in Calumet, turn left at first stoplight onto 6th Street. Go past Burger King, Pamida & IGA for several blocks, turn left on Oak Street (the Michigan House will be on your right) and head 5 blocks to the last house on the left hand side (before Oak St. turns right and heads up a hill)

Snowmobiling: The Keweenaw Penninsula receives over 200 inches of snow each year. There are over 200 miles of groomed trails and hundreds more of untouched areas. The Oak Street House is located 3 blocks from the Snowmobile trails and there is plenty of parking for snowmobiles, trucks and trailers.

Hockey Trips: The Oak Street House is located within minutes of the Calumet Armory and 15 minutes from the ice rinks (Dee Stadium, Houghton County Areana, and MTU) in Houghton and Hancock. The Oak Street House is the perfect place to stay for family's as there is plenty of room to make it your home for the weekend.

Keweenaw National Historic Park
: Calumet is home to the Keweenaw National Historic Park. Once a bustling copper mining area, the mining history has been preserved to capture the life and times of that era. There are many opportunities to take mine tours, visit museums and tour the mine buildings that once made the Keweenaw the top copper producing area in the world.

Fall Colors:
The Keweenaw Penninsula is rated as one of the top places to see fall colors in the country. With hundreds of miles of highways one can drive for days to see falls brillant display of colors.

Fishing: The Keweenaw Penninsula surrounded by Lake Superior and provides some of excellent big water fishing for Trout and Salmon. With many inland lakes, the Keweenaw provides superb fishing for Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Pike, Pearch, Trout and more. One of the best kept secrets is the hundreds of miles of trout stream fishing that blanket the Keweenaw's landscape. Don't forget, when winter arriveds, both Lake Superior and the inland lakes provide excellent ice fishing opportunities as well.

Cross Country Skiing
The Keweenaw offers miles of groomed cross country ski trails. Calumet also hosts the Great Bear Chase and the starting point is just a few blocks minutes from the starting point.

Down Hill Skiing
The Keweenaw offers phenominal down hill skiing with over 900 foot drop and over 41 runs. Mount Bohemia Ski Hill is a hill is not for beginners. No where in the midwest can you find skiing this good. Check out there site for more information.
Mount Ripley in Hancock offers a great family skiing overlooking the sister city's of Hancock and Hougton.
