Day 7 (August 17, 2004)

Campsite: Sunrise

The shortest day on the trail - only two hours.  This can be attributed to two factors; short miles and the prospect of getting a "real" meal at the snack bar.  After eating freeze dried food and granola bars for 6 days we were ready for something more substantial.  Oh, getting to a phone to call our wives motivated us as well (my wife made me put this in).

Ed had cached food here so we were able to re-stock our supplies for the remaining three days.  Ed had really thought ahead and included 4 small bottles of wine in our cache, which really hit the spot.  We inhaled an early lunch, hung around for a Ranger lead tour, and then had leisurely supper.  Hurried back to camp (1.2 miles) as storm clouds were gathering.  By the time we got to camp the clouds were gone.
